3. Liga goes to the wire

Here at Samstag 1530 we love the German third division, not just because our favourite clubs play in it, but because it is always incredibly tight and competitive. This season is proving no different as the top seven teams go into the final stretch of games separated by no more than four points.

With Bayern Munich II currently top, but unable to progress into Bundesliga 2, that leaves two promotion places and a play off spot to aim at for the remaining six teams. The two form teams are Eintracht Braunschweig and Würzburger Kickers, neither of whom have lost since the restart. MSV Duisburg have been there or thereabouts all season, but lack consistency at the business end of the season, while Ingolstadt, Hansa Rostock and newly promoted Waldhof Mannheim are all in with a shout.

With four games remaining in the next week and a half there are bound to a few more twists and turns before the season is concluded.
